Dr. Blumthal is native to central Illinois and originally from Paris, IL. He graduated from Loyola University in 1972, Northeastern Illinois University in 1976, and Illinois College Of Optometry in 1981.
He currently lives in Tuscola, IL, and sees patients two days a week for Macon County Community Eye Care.
Dr. Blumthal is a past president of the Illinois Optometric Association (2008-2009) and has volunteered his professional services to Catholic Charities Vision Clinic in Springfield, IL on a monthly basis since 1997.
